Metal frames for children's beds — for years, not for one season
A child's bed takes more than an adult's. Jumping, playing, sitting on the edge — a wooden construction starts to work loose at the joints over time and to squeak. We build our frames from welded 40x30 mm steel profile with a 1.5 mm wall, powder coated in textured black that resists scratches.
Which size to choose
A length of 160 cm is the standard for a children's bed for ages of around 3 to 10. The width is chosen to suit the size of the room: 80 cm is the classic for smaller interiors, 90 cm gives more freedom, and 100 cm works well when the bed is meant to last longer or when a parent often reads together with the child.
Lifting from the foot end or from the side
A mechanism opening from the foot end is the solution for beds standing free or with their longer side against the wall. The side version lets you place the bed with its shorter side against the wall and open the storage from the room side — a common layout in narrow children's rooms.
What is worth knowing before you buy
The frame is fitted inside a bed box, built by you or bought separately. Each corner of the box must have a support for the closed frame to rest on — without it, the entire load is carried by the lifting mechanisms.
